Desk Sticky Notes, also referred to as Desk Notes, is a personal macOS sticky notes app from an independent solo developer. This page explains how to get support, what to try first, how local notes are stored, and what to know about backups, deleted notes, purchases, and redaction.

When you contact support, include your macOS version, Desk Sticky Notes app version, and a short description of the issue. If a screenshot would help explain the issue, you may include one, but avoid sharing private note contents or other sensitive information.
Basic Troubleshooting
If Desk Sticky Notes is not behaving as expected, try these steps before contacting support.
- Quit Desk Sticky Notes and open it again.
- Install the latest available Desk Sticky Notes update from the App Store.
- Install available macOS updates.
- Restart your computer if window, desktop, or Spaces behavior looks stuck.
- Check other desktops or Spaces if a note is not where you expect it.
- Move or resize a note after display changes if its position looks wrong.
Local Notes
Desk Sticky Notes stores note data locally on your device. Local note data can include note text, window position and size, collapsed state, category, selected style, palette, timestamps, and redaction data.
Desk Sticky Notes does not sync or back up your notes to a Desk Sticky Notes server. The app does not provide a remote account where support can access, export, restore, or delete your notes for you.
Backups and Deleted Notes
Desk Sticky Notes is not a backup service. Keep separate backups of important information. If a note is deleted in the app, removed from local storage, lost because of device failure, or otherwise unavailable from your device, Desk Sticky Notes support cannot restore it.
If you use a backup tool, migration tool, disk clone, or third-party backup service, that tool may separately copy local Desk Sticky Notes app data according to its own behavior and settings. Desk Sticky Notes does not control those tools.
Avoid storing the only copy of critical information in any sticky notes app. If something is important, keep it in a place that is part of your regular backup workflow.
Redaction
Redaction in Desk Sticky Notes is a visual masking feature. It is meant to hide text from quick glances on the note surface. It is not encryption, access control, password protection, or a secure privacy boundary.
Redacted text is still part of your local note data. Someone with access to your device, local app data, or backups may be able to reveal or read the underlying text. Do not rely on redaction to protect passwords, financial information, regulated data, or other sensitive secrets.
Purchases and App Store Support
Desk Sticky Notes is sold as a one-time paid app on the App Store. App Store purchases and payment processing are handled by Apple.
